In case you would like to track your grocery spending to see exactly how much you save with coupons and sales, here is the one I use. It is very easy to use. Take the full price of each food item before sale and coupon and add that up for the first column "C". That will give you the retail value of the food before your discounts. That way you will know exactly how much food you got for what you paid. Then add up the amount that was taken off for the B1G1 sales (column "D"), regular sales (column "E"), and coupons you used (column "F"). Then add in the tax (column "H") and it will compute what you paid. It should match your receipt if you entered everything correctly. Then in column "J", I type in everything I bought.

If you have any questions, please ask!!!
Before I start typing in items and amounts for the month, I click "save as" and save it for the month (for example grocery_June2009)
You can change the top titles to be the stores that you use, those are just the 3 grocery stores around me. I use the 4th page to enter all the food I buy from target, Walmart, CVS and Walgreen's (and any other store that I may get food at).

You seriously track every item!?!?
If she keeps track of every item, she can tell if an item is rock bottom price or not. I don't have enough energy to track every item, but it would definitely be beneficial.
Yes, I have for over a year now. I am a tad obsessive with things I know, I should have been an accountant for sure!!!! I love math and numbers and spreadsheets!!!
Wow... I don't even have kids, but I certainly don't have the patience to do that! lol! I'm pretty good with high-fiving myself when I save 75% or more. Beyond that we saved all of our receipts from June and I just put all that together on a spreadsheet to see where we could cut back. I would go bald trying to track every item. Sure glad you do it! Makes life easier for us ;-)
What program do I need to load that spreadsheet? It says I don't have the right program...
Can you email it to me?
